How to Clear Your Computer’s Browser Cache
The DNS Cache is space in your computer’s RAM memory and hard drive. The DNS cache saves copies of previously visited website pages in time. So even though your website may have changed your computer believes your website is the same as in the cache. So clearing the cache can help.
If you have recently moved to us from another website host, you may need to clear your cache. However, clearing your DNS cache will not always correct a DNS problem.
If your internet service provider (ISP) has a DNS cache you will have to wait for them to flush that as well (this is an issue not in our control).
How to clear your computer’s cache:
Windows
Start > Run.
Type in “cmd”, then click run.
Type in the command window “ipconfig /flushdns” and press enter.
Your computer’s DNS cache should now be cleared.
Mac OSX
Navigate to terminal.
Type in “dscacheutil -flushcache” and press enter.
Linux
Navigate to terminal.
Type in “/etc/init.d/nscd restart” and press enter.
You may also need to wait for your ISP’s own DNS cache to clear. This will generally occur within 24-48 hours.
